We spent President's Day weekend in Chicago....another Kiera and Hazel show!

Birthday Party Fun

 Kiera had two birthday parties this weekend!  First stop was ice skating to celebrate Kiera's classmate, S. All of the girls did amazing on the ice even without cone/support aid to steady themselves.  Our second party was for our neighbor, C. It was a bowling party. Kiera is a bowling machine and really whips the ball down the alley.  We love parties...friends and cake are the perfect combination! 

Carry the Torch!

Kiera was chosen to represent her class in the Spiritual Olympics Day at school. She got to carry the torch during the processional into mass. She took her job super seriously; she had her concentrating face on! Grandpa, Papa and I were able to leave work early to attend mass with Kiera (poor Mimi and Dave had to work).  Kiera got to leave school a little early after mass and celebrate a job well done with ice cream at DQ!

Snow Volcano

First Book Report

 Our girl is turing into a reading machine! She is the top reading group in her class and has just been assigned her first book report. She read the book the Best Nest by P.D. Easman. She would recommend this book to a friend because it is funny when the bell dings and the birds get scared.  You'll note, however, that while she is a reading machine, she is not a spelling machine (but she's got the sounds down and that's all that counts at this point!) 

Here are some Kiera-isms...

Kiera (jokingly): I am wearing Calvin Einstein under ware!

Dave: You must be a smarty pants! 

 "I'm not sure I believe in Santa Claus. How does he not throw up after eating so many cookies?"

"If this is the INtrance (how she heard the word entrance), where is the OUTtrance?"

"Snow" Much Fun!

Kiera and Brooke have so much fun in the snow together! So far this winter, Kiera has had five snow days and I have had six. Each time there is cold weather or a big snow, Kiera and I have our pajamas on inside out and we flush ice cubes down the toilet...we love snowy days, but we love "snow days" off of school even more!
