Prom

Ty's prom was last night. The evening started with a "where are the car keys?" No one could find them, until we looked in the ignition of the car. Yes, someone (and none of us did it!) left the keys in the car. Dave had to jump the car before Ty could go pick up Kelly in the black car. After that, the evening was perfect! The rain held off until later in the evening, so we were able to get good pics (a little humid and a little too much fog coming off the lake). Prom was at the Renaissance downtown. Ty said they had the most fun at prom dancing, but after prom at CSU was lame. He came home "early" at 3am from after prom to sleep so he and all of his friends would be rested up for a Cedar Point Cabin trip.

New Sand and Vacuuming

Grandpa bought new sand for Kiera's sandbox.
She had fun scooping it from the bag to the sandbox.
After tracking her new sand into the house,
she got out her dancing partner, I mean, the vacuum!

Soccer Game #2

Kiera had her second soccer game today. She was timid at first, but went in and played!!! She wasn't a "superstar" but we're just so glad she played! It was very foggy and the field was a little wet, but she didn't get muddy. The highlight of the game was at the end when she found a "ginormous worm." (Thanks to Ty for teaching her the slang word ginormous!)

Can you guess...

what Kiera found in Mimi and Papa's backyard?
A painted turtle!
We didn't really believe her when she came inside and told us that she found a turtle in the backyard (you know how she is..."I have 7 pups. The tiger scratched me. There are sharks in the water. Etc!) but sure enough, there was a tiny turtle. We let her keep it for a while in her "jug bar" then she and Papa released him to the little gully at the end of their street.

Soccer

After three weeks of rainouts, Kiera had her first soccer game. Her team never had a practice either (thank you, rain!) but Dave took her to the soccer fields to practice a few times so she would know what to do. She seemed excited to play so I figured all would go well...and it did, at first. She played for about 10 minutes, then came off the field. She wouldn't say what was wrong and just wanted to hide/snuggle. The coach was super nice and tried to encourage her back onto the field, but it was a no-go. So we watched the game from the sidelines and cheered on her teammates. We went out to lunch with Grandpa and Ryan then back home to play. We asked her again why she didn't want to play in the game and this time she said the kids were trying to take her ball! Who knows what was going on in her head, but hopefully we'll have better luck next Saturday!
She was sad......then came out of it...
...then got some lovin' from Grandpa...
...and Ryan...
...and life was good again! And our other star athlete....
Ignatius plays in the Jesuit Tournament in Toledo this weekend. Dave drove these guys (Ty, Joe, Tim and Chris) to the fields. Go Wildcats!

Easter Baskets

Kiera and Tyler found Ryan's basket in the dryer and gave it to him! Tyler found his behind the computer desk
Kiera found her basket behind the chairs in the sitting room
I'll be sure to tell the Easter Bunny NOT to put grass in her
basket next year!

And Gavin and Erin got their "Easter Box" in the mail earlier in the week.
