Sisterhood of the Traveling Pumpkin Hat

We all know Brooke is a good pup! She's photogenic and a good sport; posing with props is usually pretty easy with her. We headed outside to take some fall pics wearing a pumpkin hat. While we were outside, two of our neighbor dogs (and their owners) came outside too and before you knew it,  both pups took turns modeling the hat. Then, it got me thinking...I should send this hat to Hazel so she could model it on her Instagram account. I mailed off the hat and a note dubbing the hat "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pumpkin Hat." Emily posted a pic of Hazel wearing it on Instagram then our family wanted in on the fun too! So off the hat went to Michelle and Maui. Next stops include Nicole and Begley, Baleigh and Linus, and Olivia and Sonny.

Brooke's favorite activity (other than modeling) is playing

"Canterbury Gives Back" Block Party

This year, Kate and I planned something different for our block party...instead of using our block funds to have something fun at the block party (we've done a bounce house, a clown/magician, the Rocket Car, Santa...just to name a few) we decided to do good deeds for others. Our theme this year was "Canterbury Gives Back." We teamed up with our favorite "charity," The Village Project. We spent the early afternoon doing a yard clean up for a lady (who was battling cancer) and her husband. Then at the block party, the kids painted vases and made cards for the Village Project. We've since decided to "adopt" the couple we helped; we're going back later in the fall to rake leaves. I was so proud of my family and my neighbors...Canterbury Road rocks!

Nickel Plate Beach

On our way home from visiting Grandma and Grandpa Kette, we made a pit stop in Huron to see one of Dave's painters' new house. His house is right by Nickel Plate Beach so we had to take a visit. Our little monkey played on the playground then went running along the beach. We love our great lake!
