Block Party 2017

This year's block party was a splashin' success!
The kids (and the grown ups later in the night!) had
a blast on the water slide. We also painted Kindness
Rocks and sang karaoke.

The Canterbury Crew...These girls were together almost
everyday this summer. Neighborhood friends are awesome!
Ryan was the DJ in charge of karaoke
Ellen was thrilled to have her daughter Annie
and granddaughter S visiting the weekend of the party
One neighbor brought Kelsey Elizabeth
cupcakes and macrons to share...yum!

Painting some rocks to be a part of
The Kindness Rocks Project
Though they live on the next street over,
L and L spend enough time on Canterbury
that they were invited too!
Night time sliding
Dave convinced a few of the other grown ups
to take a turn on the slide. They had just as much
as the kids, maybe even more!

Water Balloon Fight

'Twas the night before the first day of school. Kiera was at volleyball practice
and Dave was picking her up. I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew it would be
a fun time to try it! I had a few left over water balloons (I wish we had more...
you can never have too many water balloons!) so I set this up and hid in the back
yard with my balloons. We had a wild, wonderful and WET time!

If you look closely, you can see the purple water balloon on the
right side of Dave's rear end!
Kiera got him good!

Up close and personal because I thought this was a great pic of Dave!

Let there be "Water!"

We've had electricity at the cabin for sometime now...but we've been without water. This weekend, the hole for the 1,000 gallon water holding tank was dug and the spring was tapped!

Kiera's pond now has a little waterfall! Here's a close up...
...and a shot from a distance.
The trickling water makes the most lovely sound.

Brookey playing fetch

The water was still quite chilly...
Kiera and Brooke didn't stay in very long.

Doing a happy dance? Throwing rocks? Preparing to do a
cartwheel? Not sure, but I know one thing for sure...Kiera
had a great day at the farm!
Because the cabin sits so far back in the woods, we needed
to improve the pathway back to it...first step, dig a trench and put in
drainage pipes, then lay highway mat and put rocks down.
It took all of us to move the tank from the cabin to its
new spot in the woods!
Let the digging begin!

Love the flower in the moss on the rock
She's in!
Barn Update...

Can you spot the snake?

Adventures in the golf cart with Ryan!
After the water tank was buried, we headed down to
the spring to watch the guys tap the spring.
The put the pipe in place, then gently tapped it into the
spring with the bucket of the digger.

Kiera to the rescue with the wrench to open the pipe
