Kiera's First Visit to the Dentist

Kiera went to the dentist for the first time yesterday. She did great! It was a "real" appointment. I thought they would just poke around in her mouth and show her what going to the dentist was all about, but she got her teeth cleaned and a fluoride treatment.

Picnic in the Park

Bay slept over last night. This morning, we met up with Mimi/Aunt Billie and headed to the Tow Path in the Metro Parks. We had a picnic lunch then went for a short walk on the trial. The morning would not be complete without a trip to a playground!

Funny Kiera story: Kiera calls my mom Mimi and Baleigh calls her Aunt Billie. Since the girls have been together a lot this summer, Kiera hears Bay calling for Aunt Billie. The other day, Mimi and Papa came over to watch Kiera and Kiera was telling the neighbors that Aunt Billie was over! What a hoot!

and took his two "honies"to "Huntington" Beach
to have "Honey Hut" ice cream

and a lot of fun!

Fun in Tremont

Em was headed back to Chicago today. She took the Megabus which departs from Tower City. Because she needed to be downtown, we had a farewell afternoon in Tremont. Emmy, Papa, Kiera and I had a great day. Sadly, Mimi couldn't join us because she was on jury duty. We started our day at Lincoln Park to play on the swings. Then we drove to La Bodega for lunch.

It was such a beautiful afternoon, that we walked to A Cookie and A Cupcake for dessert

We walked back to the cars, headed to Mickey D's to use the bathroom and get some water. Kiera played in the play place (third playground in one day!) Then off Emily went. Thanks for a FUN day, Em and Papa!

ABC Fun

Last night, Kiera went to bed with alphabet flashcards (in addition to her monkeys and polka dot blankie). This morning, here is what I found her doing...

She arranged the cards like this on her own. Total random order. We sat in bed awhile and said letters. Then had pancakes for breakfast.

Playground

Kiera took a three and a half hour nap yesterday, so at 7:30pm, she was still raring to go! Dave was at Tyler's baseball game, so I loaded Kiera into the car and headed to the playground.

She ate dinner in the car (pbj and strawberries).
When we arrived at the playground, we were in for a surprise! A deer!
Kiera has some killer mosquito bites, including one on her eye.

But we didn't let that stop our fun!!
