From Trash to Treasure: Teak Bench Edition

It's no secret that our neighbor Kate and I like to find "treasures" in people's garbage and this teak bench was a major score! When we found it it was in bad shape...unstable and in desperate need of teak oil. Dave fixed the wood and Kiera and I sanded and oiled it. It now has a second life at the farm near the She Shed!

As the girls worked on the bench, Dave stained the beams
Strong legs...always up and down a ladder!
While we were at the farm this weekend, we picked these beauties!

Fun Adventure

Our neighbor had to work and their babysitter was sick so C and J
spent the day with us. We went on a fun adventure...to the Nature Center,
on a nature scavenger hunt, out to lunch and to a new playground in Avon.
Made me miss Kiera's toddle days when we used to go these places on a
weekly, if not daily, basis.

Braces Consultation

Kiera had her braces consultation today! She's always had a great smile,
now it will be a great, straight smile. She'll start with an expander on the top
and a permanent retainer on the bottom. Next stop, braces!

Her before orthodontia pics
We were laughing soooo hard at this pic! We called
it her "Robbing Walmart Mugshot"

Cedar Point Frontier Festival

This year, Prayers from Maria has a second sunflower field at Cedar Point! They also had a booth selling merchandise and raising awareness during the Frontier Fest. Kiera and I volunteered to work the booth. We saw Gianna and her dad, and Kiera stepped out of the booth to ride a The Gemini with them while I held down the fort.

Beach Volleyball

Kiera tried sand volleyball this summer. Meet her team, "Net Flicks"
They played every Tuesday, right on the beach on Lake Erie at Lakeview
Beach in Lorain.

Art Show

SRS has a new art teacher this year, Mrs. Delventhal. Kiera terribly misses the former art teacher, Mrs. Beirne (who is our neighbor's sister) but has enjoyed the new art projects and the new take on the art show.  Each student had a professionally framed original piece of art in the show that was for sale for $25. This cute chameleon came home with us. We're proud of our little artist!

Sky Girl Camp

Kiera attended "Sky Girl Camp' at Burke Lakefront Airport this Saturday. It was put on by Sprout Experience. It was a girls only event and the girls got to go in a flight simulator, make a "Rosie the Riveter" type display for the International Women Air and Space Museum and take a plane ride over Lake Erie.
