Christmas Card Photo Shoot

I love good stationery and sending cards in the mail. I especially love Christmas cards. Time got away from me and I *almost* didn't send cards out. But when Kiera and I drove down to the farm to feed the ducks, we had a little Christmas Card photo shoot at the She Shed.

Look at the thin layer of ice on the pond

Kiera's driveway pics are my fave!

The She Shed got some Christmas touches...wreaths, trees and buffalo check pillows
Selfie!

This is the shot we used for the cards!

The Ducks "Winter Home"

Grandpa and Dave built the ducks their "winter home" in the barn this weekend. We used
scrap wood, netting, a tarp and lots of straw. We tried to catch the ducks to put them in, but only
got Daisy. We tried and tried and tried, but gave up...only to come back the following weekend
and round them all up with food (why didn't we do that in the first place?) Kiera invited her friend, R
to the farm for the weekend.

Fishing at Aunt Sally's Farm

We took our annual trip to Aunt Sally's farm today! Kiera's friend, R
came with us. The forecast called for a beautiful morning and then
afternoon showers. The fish were biting non-stop; as soon as the girls
put their poles in the water they got one...Grandpa and I couldn't unhook
them fast enough! Grandpa always gives a little prize for first fish and
biggest fish. R got the first and Kiera got the biggest.
Silly girls kissing their fish

Three cheers for a great day fishing!
 Eleven year old driving school

As we were swimming in the pool, the storm clouds came rolling
in...thankfully it didn't thunder or lightening so we stayed in the
pool during the storm!

From Trash to Treasure: Teak Bench Edition

It's no secret that our neighbor Kate and I like to find "treasures" in people's garbage and this teak bench was a major score! When we found it it was in bad shape...unstable and in desperate need of teak oil. Dave fixed the wood and Kiera and I sanded and oiled it. It now has a second life at the farm near the She Shed!

As the girls worked on the bench, Dave stained the beams
Strong legs...always up and down a ladder!
While we were at the farm this weekend, we picked these beauties!
