Fishing at Aunt Sally's Farm

We took our annual trip to Aunt Sally's farm today! Kiera's friend, R
came with us. The forecast called for a beautiful morning and then
afternoon showers. The fish were biting non-stop; as soon as the girls
put their poles in the water they got one...Grandpa and I couldn't unhook
them fast enough! Grandpa always gives a little prize for first fish and
biggest fish. R got the first and Kiera got the biggest.

Three cheers for a great day fishing!

As we were swimming in the pool, the storm clouds came rolling
in...thankfully it didn't thunder or lightening so we stayed in the
pool during the storm!

C and E Visit the Farm

We were thrilled to have C and E visit the farm for the first time! We had a lot of fun exploring, fishing and enjoying nature and each other's company.
Love this shot because of their reflection on the pond!

Life Lately

Here's what we've been up to lately...

Swing set fun at Mimi and Papa's cookout

Papa's new toy...
He made delicious chili!
Where are the Dog Days of Summer? We've got a dog, and it's
summer, but where's the sultry heat?

Since my school year was over before Kiera's, I was able to chaperone
her end of the year zoo field trip without missing work. Here's our group!

Aunt Sally's Farm

We took our annual trip to Aunt Sally's farm this week. The weather was perfect, warm with a cool breeze.  Kiera had her best visit ever, she spent most of her time playing with her cousin, T. She was in love with all of the animals (the giant dog, the cows, the puppies, a baby robin),  she got to drive the mule all by herself and was a passenger on the 4 wheeler. We caught about 25 fish. Kiera caught the first one, a bass.

With grandpa's help, Kiera drove the Mule to from the farm house to the
pond. But by the end of the day, Kiera was driving it all by herself!
