St. Raphael School Homecoming 2021

The 8th grade fall sports were recognized at the St. Raphael Homecoming game this weekend. The girls got a flower and their names were announced as they walked on the field at halftime. The announcer didn't say her name right (something like Key-era Key-tee) but we're used to that so it gave us a good chuckle!

Teammates and Friends!

Proud Parents! Dave was there too, but he was in the
stands talking (no surprise there!)

Each 8th grader received a yard sign.
Here's Kiera begrudgingly posing with hers!

June This and That

We're not even halfway through the month of June, but we've already had a lot of good times!

Sand volleyball with some of her club teammates...

Kiera and some classmates are playing softball on the Westlake
Rec league. Here's Kiera (catcher) and Dave (helper coach)
Ty & Val came to cheer Kiera on at her softball game...
...grandpa too!

For Mother's Day, Kiera bought me a bunch of mini succulents
which I transplanted into our favorite tea tins to make a rainbow planter!
For the record, our two fave teas are the orange tin (Hot Cinnamon Sunset)
and the yellow tin (Yellow & Blue) which is a chamomile and lavender blend.
Got to spend the day with Leo and Lenny...
Here's Leo soaking up the sunshine!
They are cute (and lazy!) coworkers

Kiera tried CYO Track for the first time this year,
competing in the 400m, 200m, and discuss. Here are the members
of the 7th grade track team at the track banquet.
Girl Power!

Another trip to the Lake, with G this time, but it was too choppy to go in

Last Day of 7th Grade

And just like that, Kiera said goodbye to 7th grade and hello to summer! The school year ended a day earlier than planned this year, on June 7th, a Monday. Because the year was basically over and grades were already submitted, we did something we don't normally do - a school night sleepover! Kiera had two friends sleepover. The girls went to bed around 11:30 and were up at 6:30. The school day doesn't start until 9, but they went to the local coffee shop, Mojo's for breakfast before school.

A new look to our first/last day pics as our home reno is finally complete!

K+ MG + R = Friends Forever

Love these silly pics!

An interview with Kiera about some of her favorite 7th grade memories:
Closest friends - MJ and R
Fave class - Religion
Fave Teacher - Mrs. Seitz (also her daughter, Genevieve)
Favorite school memory - volleyball

Happy 25th Birthday, Nick!

The barn got a new roof

L's first trip to the Courtyard! She was a perfect angel
the whole time...she slept then quietly cooed in her seat.

The Rettle Roller got a Thanksgiving quote

Cousins!

Lots of snuggles with L while they were in town for

September This and That

CYO Volleyball 6th Grade A Team! Guess who was the "assistant" coach?
Yours truly. Here are the girls eating cupcakes to celebrate J's birthday.

Got a new favorite plant...a Pilea. It's called the
"pass it on" plant because it easily grows little sprouts.

Kiera's sixth grade class went to Camp Damascus
for three days and two nights

Trying out a new snow cone shop after a volleyball game

Art Show

SRS has a new art teacher this year, Mrs. Delventhal. Kiera terribly misses the former art teacher, Mrs. Beirne (who is our neighbor's sister) but has enjoyed the new art projects and the new take on the art show.  Each student had a professionally framed original piece of art in the show that was for sale for $25. This cute chameleon came home with us. We're proud of our little artist!
