Square Bubble

I found a square bubble making kit at my favorite store.
Kiera worked hard to construct the cube frame.
Then she and Dave made a square bubble!

This and That

Our baby birds (in Kiera's birdhouse) are getting so big!

Ice Cream Social at the Library

Kiera and the neighborhood kids enjoy our little pool...They have
figured out how to use the picnic table as a "diving board"
Kiera got out all of her stuffed animals to play "zoo"

Braid

Kiera has finally learned to braid! She used to "braid" by twisting two pieces of hair together; then get frustrated when it came undone. But now, she can do it for real! Albeit, it's a little loose, but that too, will come with practice. We started on a pony's tail that had three colors which was perfect for visualizing the braid.  She is so proud of herself!

Book Nook

We turned one side of Kiera's closet into a "Book Nook." We cleared out some toys and made way for her beanbag chair, a crate of books, a blankie and a pillow.

Yellow Glasses

Kiera always finds interesting things when she looks
through Mimi's cupboards...this time around it was yellow
sunglass frames. Everyone happily modeled them, ha!
Do we know how to have a good time, or what?!

Sidewalk Chalk Fun

After a fall-like dinner of scalloped potatoes and ham,
we headed outside for family sidewalk chalk time!
(I'm sure Ryan and Tyler are so sad they are at college!)

Kiera made a rainbow that spanned half of our driveway!
You can see more of the mile-long rainbow in the background

Shaving Cream

We can cross one activity off our our "Summer List"....Shaving Cream. We got two cans of shaving cream from the dollar store and let the girls have at it! First they practiced their letters and names, but it didn't take too long before they put it all over their bodies! After their fun, they both got hosed off and went into the pool.

Happy 60th Grandpa!

Grandpa turned 60 today!
The weather was beautiful...we spent all day outside.
Lunch: Steaks, grilled shrimp, corn on the cob, baked potatoes,
spinach salad
Dessert: Blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream
(The birthday boy's fave!)
 Gift: Sperrys, beer and coffee
Gram told us that the weather was just as hot today as it was
60 years ago on dad's birth day
The color flame candles would have worked better inside!
Grandpa tried out the new bike too!
