Kindness Rocks Project

The latest craze is painted rocks...but this one is extra
fun because they are "kindness rocks." Kind messages are
written/panted on decorated rocks and hidden around
town in hopes to brighten someone's day. We had a little
station set up at our block party, but didn't get many rocks
painted...mostly because we had an inflatable water slide
there! So we set a weekend day aside and invited the some
neighborhood girls to a backyard rock painting party. The
rocks we created were beautiful and uplifting. See for yourself...

Each girl showing off their favorite rock

On the back of each rock, we listed a website and a hashtag
so we could spread the love via social media

Then later in the week, after the rocks had been sealed with
a clear coat of paint, we hopped on our bikes and hid the rocks
around town!

First Day of 4th Grade

Happy First Day of Fourth Grade! This year Kiera made the switch
from "primary" to "intermediate" status. With that title comes a few
changes...Wearing a plaid skirt rather than a jumper, not dressing
up for the Halloween parade, using an on-line grade book, and more
homework. We couldn't include Brooke on our annual pic this year
because she was at Ryan's house.

Back to School Breakfast
A little drizzle fell the morning of the first day, but
it didn't dampen our excitement!

Solar Eclipse

Mimi, Papa and Kiera got to see the solar eclipse on
August 21, 2017 up close and personal...they took a
road trip to Tennessee. They stayed at a hotel, but went
to Montvale, a former YMCA camp, to view the eclipse.

Eclipse glasses
Souvenir t-shirts...Kiera wore hers on the first dress
down day of the school year.

Other than seeing the actual eclipse, Kiera enjoyed cooling off
in the pool the best!

Block Party 2017

This year's block party was a splashin' success!
The kids (and the grown ups later in the night!) had
a blast on the water slide. We also painted Kindness
Rocks and sang karaoke.

The Canterbury Crew...These girls were together almost
everyday this summer. Neighborhood friends are awesome!
Ryan was the DJ in charge of karaoke
Ellen was thrilled to have her daughter Annie
and granddaughter S visiting the weekend of the party
One neighbor brought Kelsey Elizabeth
cupcakes and macrons to share...yum!

The Kindness Rocks Project
Though they live on the next street over,
L and L spend enough time on Canterbury
that they were invited too!
Night time sliding
Dave convinced a few of the other grown ups
to take a turn on the slide. They had just as much
as the kids, maybe even more!
