The Easter Bunny hid Kiera's Easter Basket behind the basket under the entry way table this year! He brought new goggles, Oreos, hand lettering markers and more.

Happy Halloween from the "Bloody Bridal Party!"
Kiera and two of her neighborhood girlfriends came up with the idea to be a "bloody bridal party" for Halloween. While it made me miss her younger years and "sweet" costumes, it was fun to see the girls do this on their own...not to mention the fun they had dirtying and bloodying their costumes!

More neighborhood friends
Every year Dave walks with Kiera around the neighborhood
and I stay home to pass out the candy. This year kitty "helped."
Sorting her loot is her second favorite Halloween activity...
The first? Eating all the candy!
This took about twenty shots to get the candy to fall gradually,
not in one big lump...we laughed so hard!

Kiera and Kitty in the News!
Kiera and Brine were featured in the local paper, The Westlake Bay Village Observer to advertise the annual "Pet Blessing" at St. Raphael Church. The photo was taken at the previous year's pet blessing, when Brine was still a kitty.

Christmas Day 2017
For Christmas, everyone got the gift of sleeping in this year! Kiera didn't wake up until 8am which was a treat after hosting Christmas Eve. First up were the stockings, both K and Ty won on their lotto tickets. Kiera's big gift was a softball bat and a waterproof bluetooth speaker. Ty's was a new gym bag. We didn't have a true Christmas breakfast this year, we just nibbled on the leftovers from the night before.
Kiera loves baths! Here she is with bath crayons,
but also got bath bombs and shower gel.
Santa brought a softball bat!
As Kiera was posing for the pic, both Ty and Dave shouted,
"Get your elbow up!"
After a disastrous canoeing trip this summer, both Em and I
gifted Ty waterproof cell phone holders, ha!
For the past few years, Kiera has slept in front of the tree in
hopes of seeing Santa. This year she slept on the couch, as you
can see all of her pillows and blankets!

Handmade gifts are the best!
New pajamas for me
Kiera has become quite witty, thanks to the tween shows on the
Disney Channel. I wish I had written down what she said, but
here's the look that when along with her doozy of a comment...

Santa brought this toy for Kitty, not Kiera!
Brooke wants in on the action
She looks so cute here, but she's still a D.C., as we call her.
D.C. is short for Devil Kitty, which would technically be D.K,
but once you start with a nickname, there's no going back!

Christmas Beverages for both!
Kiera got vanilla syrup and coke in bottles and Ty got a pack of
seasonal local beers...Thanks to World Market!
Vanilla Coke for breakfast? Pouring sugary syrup on the couch?
Sure, it's Christmas!
Sure, it's Christmas!
Now off to see the family!

The Kettes get a Kitty
When Kiera was 2 or 3, Dave promised her a kitten when she was ten...thinking she'd forget about it. Well guess what? She's never forgotten about it! About two months ago, Ryan was at the farm with Brooke. They were out exploring and Brooke found a kitty! Ryan brought her home and asked if we could "watch" the kitten while he was working. Kiera instantly fell in love and brought up the fact that since she was getting a kitten when she was ten anyway, we should keep this one...and now we have a kitty! Originally, Kiera named her Snow Storm. Then we thought of Brine, like salt water because she's white, and because it starts with a B like Brooke. Though we always just call her "Kitty."
Kiera had a friend over to play and they made
kitty a Halloween costume...an acorn hat and
matching skirt
