Lovely Ladies Lunch

My teacher friends and I met up for lunch at Panera.
We had a great time catching up on our summer vacation activities
and getting the latest school gossip.

Fireworks

Kiera's first time watching fireworks! Our friends, Angie and Petra (boo hoo...I didn't get any pics of them!) came over for snacks before the fireworks. Then we headed to Cahoon Park to watch the show. It's a good thing Kiera had a nap earlier in the day...the fireworks started around 10. She went right to bed at 10:45. Another great, fun-filled, long summer day!

Ready and waiting for the fireworks
At first she covered her ears,
then she was clapping to the "boom"
Look at the "horns" on Kiera...really fireworks being shot off
She took a turn on everyone's lap
Happy 5th of July!

Pool

Kiera and I went to Bay Pool for the first time today. We stayed for three hours. The first two were spent in the baby pool (while we waited for swimming lessons to end) then we headed to the kid pool which was 2 and 3 feet deep. It has a slide and splashing/falling water. She put her head under water a few times. I was nervous she might have an accident in the pool, but she told me she had to go to the bathroom two times. We came home and had lunch then she went right down for a nap!

Happy 4th!

We had a laid back Independence Day. Dave went to watch Tyler's game in the morning. Kiera and I stayed home because we had a looong day yesterday and she was still sleeping when Dave left. She woke up at 8:5o! He came home and we headed to the park.

We took a hike in the Metropark by our house
We were walking for less than a minute when Dave spotted a deer eating leaves
She let us get pretty close to her...
If you look closely, you can see the doe in this pic

Blimp

We went to Tyler's baseball games on Saturday
(They won one, lost one)
and we saw The Goodyear Blimp.

Gardening and "Swimming"

A lazy Friday evening spent in our backyard...gardening, bubble blowing, "swimming," relaxing, sand castle building, laughing!

Our new ferns are happy in their new home
The wild daisies are taller this year than they've ever been!Kiera wanted Daddy to "swim" with her (with his clothes on!) and he actually did it...
Does she have him wrapped around her little finger or what?

Pony Ride

Grandpa came to visit today. Gram stayed home because her foot was hurting her. Our first stop was to the Nature Center...saw the turtles, caught Japanese Beetles, had iced tea in the shade. Then to the Moosehead patio for lunch, yum! Our final stop was to the Bay Days Festival for a pony ride. Kiera was a little nervous at first so she was glad to have Grandpa by her side. First she rode Silver. Because there were no other kids in line at the time, Kiera got to go on two pony rides. Her second ride was on Gabby who was a little feisty. Gabby did a little trot which Kiera LOVED...she described it as "bumpy." Thanks for another fun Friday, Grandpa!
