Happy 60th Grandpa!

Grandpa turned 60 today! 

The weather was beautiful...we spent all day outside.

 Lunch: Steaks, grilled shrimp, corn on the cob, baked potatoes,

spinach salad

 Dessert: Blackberry cobbler and vanilla ice cream 

(The birthday boy's fave!)

 Gift: Sperrys, beer and coffee

 Gram told us that the weather was just as hot today as it was 

60 years ago on dad's birth day

 The color flame candles would have worked better inside!

 Grandpa tried out the new bike too!

New Toy

The Kette Family got a new toy...an "Adams Trail-a-Bike."  

We are so excited for family bike rides!

Soccer Poses

I was sad that I had to miss Kiera's last game, but I left Dave with the camera and strict instructions to "take good pictures" of Kiera at the game. I think he did an AMAZING job...these posed pictures with her soccer ball and medal are precious!

Barbie Clothes

Yesterday, Dave was working at a retired lady's house and after talking with her for a while, he mentioned he had a young daughter and the lady mentioned her hobby was making Barbie clothes...and she sent Dave home with a gift for Kiera...ten new Barbie outfits!  We had a relaxing evening (see photo below!) on the patio playing with Barbies.

Last Soccer Game

Kiera had her last soccer game this weekend. Papa and Dave cheered her on...I missed the game because all of the ladies in the family were at Put-in-Bay celebrating with Michelle for her Bachlorette Party! Kiera "flipped the on switch" and had her best game ever. She scored five goals! The coach put all of the girls in the first quarter...maybe the girl power helped her do so well! When she scored, all of the parents cheered and Kiera did her "embarassed-shoulder-shrug look" which made the parents clap even more.  All of the players got a medal for participating in soccer. Coach Matt waited until the end to give Kiera hers and said she was the most improved player. Papa and Dave took Kiera to Dairy Queen to celebrate. Kiera had a root beer float. A great weekend was had by all!

Kiera's Last Day of Preschool

Kiera had her last day of preschool today! She has been counting down the days for the past five days. They ended the year with a pizza party. Here are some of her favorite things throughout the year...

Here are the gifts we gave the teachers for the end of the year; a driftwood pencil holder. I saw the idea on Pinterest. Kiera and I went to the lake to get the wood, then Dave cut and sanded the wood and drilled holes. We also gave her two main teachers personalized thank you cards from Shutterfly (that's what is in the orange box).
