Fall Fun at Walnut Creek

Kiera didn't have school on Friday (teacher inservice day), so she spent the night at Mimi and Papa's then headed to Amish Country to visit Walnut Creek Farm. She said her favorite part was feeding the giraffe.  Thanks Mimi and Papa for taking her on a fun adventure!

Blessing of the Pets

Tonight was the "Blessing of the Pets" at St. Raphael. Kiera and I took Brookey. Before we went, Kiera and Ryan gave her a quick bath...she was the most beautious dog there. She was a little anxious, but was an angel when she got her blessing and sprinkled with holy water. We put her St. Francis medal on her collar to give her extra blessings. May God bless Brooke and all of her dog friends! 

Apple Picking

Us girls took a little road trip to Hillcrest Apple Orchard in Amherst (or "orch-rid" as Kiera says) this weekend. It rained in the morning, so we almost didn't go...but we were sure glad we did! We took a hayride to the apple trees and picked a half bushel of apples, mostly Jonagold. As we walked the orchard and picked the apples, we ate some too! After you ate the apple, you were allowed to "compost" it by tossing it on the ground. Kiera thought this was awesome! After the apple picking, we played on the swing set, rode manual go-carts, played in a hay maze and apple crate maze and shopped in the store.  Since we were close, on the way home we stopped at Mama Jo's Pie Shop. 

 We should have brought a Sharpie along to change it to 2013!

Ballet

Kiera had her first ballet class tonight. When she put on her leotard, she called her self "majesty,"  wanted to be waited on and kept bowing. Her favorite part of the class was when the teacher dimmed the lights and the students got to "free dance" and practice what they learned on their own. They didn't have to listen to the teacher when the lights were dim. 

Block Party 2013

Our block was partying this last weekend at our annual block party. We had fun playing games, jumping in the bouncy house, singing karaoke, eating, talking and roasting marshmallows. I didn't take very many pictures because I was too busy having fun!
