Pumpkin

Earlier this summer, we went to the Bay Village Community Garden's"Garden Party." They had a kid's craft table and Kiera spent most of her time there. One of the crafts was to decorate a seedling container (recycled paper towel roll) and pick a seed. Kiera picked a pumpkin seed. All on her own, she planted the lone pumpkin seed in our backyard. We did not tend to the seed because we didn't know she did it. So imagine our surprise when we noticed a large leaf pop up! We asked Kiera about it and that's when she told us she planted the seed. As you can see, it's taken over our tiny backyard! We have enjoyed watching the pumpkins grow (they grow so quickly!) and we will enjoy them even more on
Halloween night!

South Carolina Part Six - More Animals!

After the safari, we roamed around the rest of Hollywild Park to see the other animals.

 She loves the baby animals

 Photo-bombed by a duck!
So we decided to put some crackers on the rock...
...and the duck waddled up for a snack...
 ...and photo!

There's a huge turtle eating lettuce in the back ground

 Yaks!

Dave, who apparently "Speaks Monkey," was able to get this monkey
to clap along with him!
Kiera started reciting the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" when
she saw this little guy

South Carolina Part Five - Hollywild Safari

On our road trip back home, we stopped at Hollywild Animal Park. Kiera's favorite part was the safari. We rode in a bus with no windows and a long bench seat for easy access to the animals. Once we got the okay from the driver, we were able to feed the animals. Kiera was a little nervous at first as the animals teeth and tongues were right on our hands, but she quickly warmed up to them with Dave's help. We fed fallow deer, white tailed deer, zebra, bison, scottish highlanders, watusi cattle, cows and emus. We also saw a rhino (who stared in Land Rover commercials) and camels.

South Carolina Part Four

Before we hit the highway, we took one last photo shoot of our little man.

Grandpa Dave and C became fast friends...
Dave was able to make him smile and giggle so much!
Erin even said she'd never seen anyone make him so giggly.
These photos are from Dave and C's last smile session.
