First Day of Third Grade

This cutie is now a third grader! Here she is on the
first morning of school...

'Twas the Night Before School

We started a new tradition, a Back to School Breakfast, but at dinner!
I leave for school before Kiera is awake, so we came up with a fun
way to have breakfast together.

We continued our tradition of giving Kiera a grade level book to read
on the night before back to school (I'm hopeful that there's a book out
there with eighth grade or 11th grade in the title!).

She wanted curly hair for her first day of third grade, so in
went the pink sponge rollers!

An easy (and sugary!) breakfast for the first day

Best Friends: The Next Generation

So excited to sneak in a visit with Meredith and her family!
We hadn't seen each other for about seven years, and I'd never
met her precious boys...so when she called to say she was in
town, we jumped at the chance to see her, even if it was a school
night and their hotel was an hour away. Like they say with old friendships,
we picked up right wherewe left off! Our kids had fun playing together...
making S'mores, running down a big hill, and being silly.
We vowed to make ourtime between visits much shorter!

Teacher Meet and Greet - Third Grade

It's back to school time again! Our girl is a THIRD
GRADER. Her teacher is Mrs. Barrett. Kiera says
she is very nice and she never raises her voice (though
it's only been two days of school!). The theme for
St. Raphael this year is J.O.Y. which stands for Jesus,
Others, Yourself. In other exciting news...I am the
room mom for Room 3!

This picture may look like Kiera is "too cool for school,"
while in fact, she loves school!

Birthday Pose Recreated!

Grandpa has been buying our birthday cassata cakes from Baraona's Bakery in
Maple Heights forever! For some odd reason, the first picture below is
permanently on the list of computer pictures, rather than the usual current 12
months of pictures... which gave us the idea to recreate the picture!
We'll have do it again in another five or ten years!

Emily's Bridal Shower

When your dear little sister gets married,
you throw her an epic "Kate Spade-esque" shower!

Matron of Honor and Flower Girl before the shower

We had a "brunch and bubbly" shower at One Red Door in Hudson
Our friend Jesse manages the restaurant and he helped to make
the day extra special!
Funny story about the balloons...I asked Kiera and Grandpa to have
the balloons filled for me (I ordered them off Etsy and had them filled
at a party store). Of course, I said, "Be careful...don't let them blow
away!" Wouldn't you know, the "O" slipped out of the knot and
floated high in the sky. Grandpa Said Kiera started crying. They were
able to get another "O" from the store, but if you look closely, the gold
color is slightly off!
The tables were decorated with  mason jars dipped in gold glitter filled
with flowers from Heinens and Zinnias from our yard. Each bouquet had
a little paper flag stating "Brunch and Bubbly Cheers to the Future
Mrs. Shaprio" and matching scrapbook paper confetti.

Each grown up guest went home with a bottle of champagne and
each kid guest went home with a Raspberry New York Seltzer water.
Both adorned with two of my favorite things ever...tulle and paper straws!

We were able to create a custom menu for guests to choose their own meal.
I chose the Cobb Salad, my fave!
Mimosa Bar!
Mini Dessert Bar!
Mrs. Shapiro to be enjoying her bubbly
