Kiera had a great time at her birthday celebration at school. It's pretty low key, but she was still excited (although she had her hands in her mouth!). I took a half day off from school so I could attend; Dave had to work, and when I walked in, Kiera didn't say hi to me, just "Where's Daddy?" He was working. It went off without a hitch though, thanks to Miss Kathy. Here's Kiera and Miss Kathy showing Kier's timeline...
She got to carry the Earth and walk around the sun FOUR times, to represent a revolution of the Earth (one year) around the sun...
Singing "Happy Birthday!"
She got to pick out the birthday snack...mini cupcakes and strawberries. Which was perfect because I bought cupcake napkins and plates. The rule is you can only send in napkins and plates, no snacks, treat bags, etc.
She played a little bit with her friends after the birthday snack...
Then she rolled up the mat and we left school early...
Posing with her timeline...
We stopped by Auntie Kate's house to open a present from her...
Then opened even more gifts from Gram and Grandpa....
Kiera is the SLOWEST opener, she likes to play with each gift after opening it...
Kiera and Daddy
Kiera and Grandpa
Kiera Jean and Great Grandma Jean
Playing outside with her new gifts, a soccer nylon frisbee and two hula hoops...why are the cheapest gifts always the biggest hits?
Even Gram got in on the action...not a bad toss for a 93 year old!
Then Kiera did what she does best...got covered in mud while talking to the neighbors in the backyard
After a thorough leg, foot and hand washing, we got out the cake...
We had an impromptu birthday party with the neighbors...what kid wouldn't drop whatever they were doing for cake?

So much cake...so little time...
