Go Cats!

We weren't able to get tickets to this year's Holy War between St. Ignatius and St. Eds, so we did (what we thought at the time) was the next best thing...have a watch party at home with our favorite Wildcat fans! We all donned our Cats gear, loaded up on appetizers and settled down in front of the big screen and switched the computer broadcast on. We then found out the game, which is usually broadcast on the St. Ignatius webpage was audio only because of contractual agreements with Time Warner Cable. That wasn't the only bad news of the day, the Wildcats lost.

Our linebacker and our cheerleader!
The cheerleading uniform is a size 4T, we got
it when Ty was in high school so Kiera could
wear it to the games. We're saving it for our
future Wildcat grandchildren, but Kiera managed
to squeeze into it to cheer on the Cats!
Since it was Halloween day, Kiera needed to carve
her pumpkin. This year Papa helped.

Nick's Football Game

The fam all went to the Aurora Football Semi-Final game to cheer for Nick. It was a bittersweet day for the boys. One of their teammates died on Thanksgiving day and the game was the day after Thanksgiving. The team just wasn't themselves, and who could blame them. They lost to Avon. Despite the sad tone of the game, the fam had a good time chatting, staying warm and drinking hot cocoa.

Visit to NY

Mimi, Papa, Dave, Kiera and I packed in the car and headed to Rochester for the weekend. The weekend was supposed to be rainy, so we packed warm clothes, rain jackets and ponchos. But we didn't need them...It was sunny and 70 degrees. Kiera was so happy to see Tyler after the game... She waited for him close to the doors of the locker room and gave him a big hug when she saw him. Ty headed to his dorm room to change, and took Kiera with him while we went to get the car. We went out to dinner at the Dinosaur BBQ (it was featured on the food network); it was good! Then stop at Starbucks and a little sight seeing around Rochester. We headed back to the hotel to relax and do Ty's laundry and Ty headed out to a party with his friends. We had breakfast together, then headed for home. Next trip will be to see Ryan, followed by a trip to see Emily, then we'll start all over again!

First College Football Game

Last night, Rochester played at Case. How perfect that their first game was so close to home for us? We weren't for sure that Ty would even come to the game, as only 60 players make the travel squad, but he made it! However, he did not get any play time. Rochester won the game 17 to 7. It rained on and off all night so on and off went the rain coats and ponchos. The best part of the night was getting to see Ty after the game before he boarded the bus back to New York. We thought he looked bigger, and he did; he gained 10 pounds.

Signing Day

Until Tyler came along, I had never heard about "Signing Day" (a day were high school athletes "sign" commitment letters to colleges). Today was Ty's big day for college...he "signed" with Lake Erie College to play football. We are so proud and excited for Ty!!! Here are a few pics from today...

Don't you just love the shirt?
These next two shots are my faves...

Football Banquet

We went to Ty's Football Banquet this afternoon. It was catered and yummy. It lasted 4 hours! Thank goodness Kiera was with Mimi and Papa. Tyler got two awards...a two year varsity player award and the Most Valuable Linebacker award. We are proud parents! We celebrated by going to Mitchell's for ice cream.
