Pumpkin Pie

Kiera was making her own version of pumpkin pie...she filled up water in a tupperware container and was stirring it up, pretending to add sugar. Dave asked her "Where's the pumpkin in your pumpkin pie?" And that prompted us to really make a pumpkin pie. It was meant to be; we had all of the ingredients at home.  Can't wait for more on Thanksgiving Day!

Papa's Surprise for Kiera

Papa had to go to New Jersey for work. He was gone for over a week so Kiera and I slept over their house to keep Mimi company. Papa bought Kiera a surprise from New Jersey. She guessed that it was a lizard. But it was....
...a pink sock money! She loves it; thanks, Papa!

Goodies with Great Gram

I didn't have school this Friday...Hooray! I spent the morning grocery shopping and at Crocker Park. Dad and Gram picked up Kiera from school at 12:30 as usual, so we were all able to hang out for a while. The highlight of the afternoon was pastries from the bakery, complete with coffee and hot cocoa. Talk about a treat...I even put whipped cream in Kiera's cocoa!

Parent and Child Night

Tuesday was Parent and Child Night at Kiera's school. Kiera got to show us around her classroom and we worked together on some "lessons." We also got to to take pictures with her teachers!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from Kiera, the witch...a good witch. She wanted to be a snake, but agreed to be a witch (again) this year. I just didn't have it in me to make a snake costume. But I'm not all bad...I made this Halloween pillowcase dress for Kiera to wear to school as they didn't dress up at school. Dave took Kiera around the neighborhood trick-or-treating; they met up with Roz and Caiti. They were gone for almost an hour. I stayed at home and passed out candy. We only had about 30 trick-or-treaters this year...disappointing! When Kiera got home, we sorted her candy into groups and she got to eat two pieces of candy. She picked a Pixie Stick and a rice krispie treat. She did not know what the pixie stick was...she said, "mom, is this a straw?"
