Horseback Riding

Erin's favorite pastime is horseback riding. She has two horses, Baby and Cheyenne. Kiera got to ride on Cheyenne. Erin borrowed a kid sized helmet and vest from a friend so Kiera was safe to ride. Erin reviewed the rules and Kiera hung on her every word. She did the kiss noise to make the horse go, she said "whoa!" to stop. She was a little afraid when the horse went from a walk to a trot.  She did a great job and even rode the horse by her self for a minute. When I asked her what her favorite part was she replied "everything was!"

While the girls hit the stable, the guys worked on the boat. We hope to get her in the water tomorrow!

Goat Farm

Our first outing in South Carolina was the the Split Creek Goat Farm. We got to pet goats, roosters and cats. We bought some of the best feta cheese and fudge made with goat milk.
This big pig laid in this exact spot the whole time we were at the farm. Chickens hopped on him and he didn't even move. So cute...and big!

Pool Fun

Today was "Friday Fun Day" at the pool to celebrate the end of swim lessons. The kids were able to ride the slide and jump off the diving board (something they are not normally allowed to do unless they are 48" tall). Grandpa was on standby to go down the slide with Kiera, but she didn't want him to go down with her, only walk her up the stairs once. After the slide she headed to the diving board. She went off the low dive and was able to swim by herself from the board to the side about six times. Kiera was enrolled in level two where she practiced the back stroke, treading water, front scoops (crawl) and passed to level three. She loves the water, that's for sure!

Ladies Lunch

My favorite teacher friends and I (and our little ladies) went out to lunch to celebrate my birthday. We went to Panera and ate outside. The weather was great and being outside gave the little girls some freedom to play around a bit which gave the moms a chance to talk. Nanny Jane bought each girl a book bag filled with nail polish and other goodies. M painted Kiera and M's nails.
A good time was had by all!

When we got home from lunch, Kiera spent almost a half hour painting her fingernails (and surrounding skin!). She picked out the colors and did the "pad-rin" (pattern as Kiera says it) all by herself. She was so proud.
