Sidewalk Chalk

Kiera and G found a fun sidewalk chalk idea on Pinterest and
decided to recreate it! Here they are lounging on beach chairs
at the beach...

 ...and as unicorns!

We're so lucky to have C visiting us! Here's his masterpiece...
He cracked us up when he said the girl's beach picture
wasn't a beach, it was a desert because "there's no water!"

Lemonade Stand

We squeezed lemon after lemon to make homemade lemonade so
the girls could have a lemonade stand. They've had one additional
one since this day. Thanks the generosity of our neighbors the girls
are going to donate the money to either The Village Project or The
Lake Erie Nature Center.

Jumping in to Vacation Fun!

We went back to Land's End, our beloved condos in South
Carolina,  after a 6 year hiatus. Things didn't change too
much, with the exception of a concrete boardwalk where
there was once wood. We went with our Land's End besties,
The Mormile Fam.  Kiera was over the moon to have little
Brooklyn to play with all week. Years ago (back before digital
cameras and iPhones were a thing!) we snapped an iconic
pic of the girls jumping into the pool....

Last Day of Third Grade

Happy Summer! June 8th was the last day of school. It's
always a half day and the kids get to dress down.

Favorite subject: Reading - Lots of book reports this
year. She enjoyed reading Ramona Quimby, Age 8 the best.
Favorite pals: Riley, Julia, Jessica, Gemma, Anna, everyone!
Funniest memory: When Will went koo-koo over his pencils
Saddest memory: Father Ryan leaving SRS for a new church
Best field trip: Lolly the Trolley - taking cameras to take
pictures of all the sights (first time using a disposable camera)
Favorite memory: Rock the Challenge - the obstacle course and
coloring a stone to be part of a cross mural

Barn Update

The approach to the barn is coming along! The retaining
walls are complete and the fill dirt has been spread. The
dirt needs time to settle, then a stamped concrete patio
will be poured.

Right side...Can't wait to plant some flowers
in this little nook!
The left side of the barn...There will be a second
small wall parallel to the side of the retaining wall.
It will be topped with stone and serve as a seat.

First Softball Game of the Summer

Kiera's playing softball again this year, but this year, she's
in the ponytail league, meaning the kids pitch and catch.
While it makes for long games (think lots of walks) the girls
are learning a lot. And guess who they are learning it from?
Coahes Dave, Ty and Kate! Many more pics to come, but
these were snapped at the first game. Go C&S Photography!

Dance Recital

Kiera signed up for dance class this year (after a three year hiatus because of the
debacle she had when she was enrolled in ballet as a kindergartener). The main reason
she wanted to sign up was because her second grade teacher taught dance. Shortly after
dance started, the teacher announced she was pregnant and unable to safely teach
"acro" dance class. At first Kiera was bummed, then she met Mr. James, the replacement
teacher and she was all smiles again. Mr. James is super fun...he does cool flips and he
lovingly calls the girls his "little donuts." Kiera also enjoyed dance because her friend, J
took the same class. J came over after school on Tuesdays to play, have a snack and change
before class at 4:30. Then J's mom picked them up from class. Carpooling rocks! Their routine
was to "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" from Lion King.

Kiera and J started off in the back row, then they moved
to the front and got to do this cool pose!

Cartwheels!

At the end of the song, they made a pyramid
 Close up!
