St. Patrick's Day

Kiera started the morning off right with a bowl of Lucky Charms!
Now the party can really begin because Brooke and Ryan arrived!
Soon to be followed by Ty and Erica
Perfect day for a convertible ride
Ryan in his new BMW convertible
We found a green wall; hello photo op!
Kiera blew the horn on her first try; never had one lesson! ha!
Best invention ever...white cotton candy. No more colored faces or hands!
Kiki and Mimi
Papa the Parade Grand Marshal...these cars were parked right in front of our spot and papa had the great idea to pose by it
and Mimi had to too!
Kiera's favorite part of the parade was the horses and dogs
Ty's alma mater...St. Ignatius
Em's alma mater...Walsh Jesuit
Puppy Love...with a St. Patty's Day bandana made by me and Kiera

More Celebrating!

Kiera had a great time at her birthday celebration at school. It's pretty low key, but she was still excited (although she had her hands in her mouth!). I took a half day off from school so I could attend; Dave had to work, and when I walked in, Kiera didn't say hi to me, just "Where's Daddy?" He was working. It went off without  a hitch though, thanks to Miss Kathy. Here's Kiera and Miss Kathy showing Kier's timeline...
She got to carry the Earth and walk around the sun FOUR times, to represent a revolution of the Earth (one year) around the sun...
Singing "Happy Birthday!"
She got to pick out the birthday snack...mini cupcakes and strawberries. Which was perfect because I bought cupcake napkins and plates. The rule is you can only send in napkins and plates, no snacks, treat bags, etc.
She played a little bit with her friends after the birthday snack...
Then she rolled up the mat and we left school early...
Posing with her timeline...
We stopped by Auntie Kate's house to open a present from her...
Then opened even more gifts from Gram and Grandpa....
Kiera is the SLOWEST opener, she likes to play with each gift after opening it...
Kiera and Daddy
Kiera and Grandpa
Kiera Jean and Great Grandma Jean
Playing outside with her new gifts, a soccer nylon frisbee and two hula hoops...why are the cheapest gifts always the biggest hits?
Even Gram got in on the action...not a bad toss for a 93 year old!
Then Kiera did what she does best...got covered in mud while talking to the neighbors in the backyard
After a thorough leg, foot and hand washing, we got out the cake...

We had an impromptu birthday party with the neighbors...what kid wouldn't drop whatever they were doing for cake?

Kiera's Birthday Breakfast

Before Kiera (or Dave!) woke up, I went to the bakery to get Kiera a special birthday breakfast...a donut! I also got balloons and hung colorful bunting. It was a fun way to begin the day!

Doing her silly pose before she gets in the car to head to school
Kier's birthday lunch...complete with a number four sandwich

Springlike Weather

We have been enjoying a week filled with Springlike weather! Kiera has been outside all week and covered in mud all week! She has water gallons that she has been dying to use, so she and Caiti had at it...
Kiera's new thing is to sit in the trunk of the car. It wasn't such a big concern when we had the big car and she could go in the way back...but now I keep a close eye on her when she asks to go in the trunk and have a snack or snuggle with a blankie and her animals. We did review "safety rules for trunk time" by going over the emergency trunk latches in each trunk. And to think we buy her expensive toys?
Kiera was so proud of herself for setting the table for dinner. She wrote each of our names on our napkins and cut up wrapping paper for a table cloth. Little Martha....

We went out for dinner last night, Ole!
