PIB Oktoberfest

We went to Put in Bay this weekend for the Oktoberfest. The weather was a-ma-zing! We wore shorts and t-shirts. The German food was delish, as was the lobster bisque. Kiera now knows what algae is because the lake was covered in it!

Last day for lobster bisque at The Boardwalk

The algae on the lake was thick and stinky!

Getting Ready for Fall Part 2

Making pumpkin muffins with strudel topping

Who wants one?
Dave already ate two. Kiera is in bed already or she would have eaten one, or two! As for me, I'm saving mine for breakfast with a cup of coffee.

Getting Ready for Fall Part 1

The "Summer Sundae" is now...
...the "Fall Pumpkin Patch"
Any ideas for winter for this fave plant of mine?

Birthday Baseball and 'Bake

Dave's good friend Don turned sixty last month...actually, he and Dave share the same birthday! Don's kids threw him a great birthday bash! It started at the Avon Lake baseball field for a family/friends baseball game. They had t-shirts made that read "Hollywood Cleaners" which was Don's childhood team. After the game (yes, I played! but Kiera didn't want to!) it was time for the clambake. It was a great day...good weather, good friends, good food!

Visit to NY

Mimi, Papa, Dave, Kiera and I packed in the car and headed to Rochester for the weekend. The weekend was supposed to be rainy, so we packed warm clothes, rain jackets and ponchos. But we didn't need them...It was sunny and 70 degrees. Kiera was so happy to see Tyler after the game... She waited for him close to the doors of the locker room and gave him a big hug when she saw him. Ty headed to his dorm room to change, and took Kiera with him while we went to get the car. We went out to dinner at the Dinosaur BBQ (it was featured on the food network); it was good! Then stop at Starbucks and a little sight seeing around Rochester. We headed back to the hotel to relax and do Ty's laundry and Ty headed out to a party with his friends. We had breakfast together, then headed for home. Next trip will be to see Ryan, followed by a trip to see Emily, then we'll start all over again!
