The six ducks finally have their adult feathers so they will be leaving their "childhood" home in the garage and moving to the farm, their "forever" home. We rounded them up and put them into their newly built duck house, then loaded the house and put it in the back of the truck. We built a temporary enclosure out of PVC pipes and chicken wire and put it over their floating duck house to help them learn that it was their new home and they would be "safe" there. We also saw the new barn flooring for the first time and Kiera wasted no time using the barn beam for gymnastics!

Volleyball
Kiera's volleyball season was almost non existent because of her knee pain (Osteochondritis Dissecans) and orthopedic doctor's treatment plan of a brace and crutches. She spent most of December until mid-April in a brace. She practiced with the volleyball team starting after Thanksgiving, but had to stop mid-December. We went to a few practices and tournaments so she could support her team. She was able to get a little playing time at her team's last tournament in Columbus at the OVR tournament. Though it was a different season for Kiera, we're still proud of #8!

Cinco de Mayo
We celebrated Cinco de Mayo with Mimi and Papa at
The Prosperity Social Club. Don't Kiera and Mimi look
cute in their matching Despisito shirts?

Easter Basket
The Easter Bunny hid Kiera's Easter Basket behind the basket under the entry way table this year! He brought new goggles, Oreos, hand lettering markers and more.

Farm Updates - Spring 2019 Edition
The cabin door got fancied up! Kiera picked the door color which we love. She may or may not have picked it solely on the name..."spun honey."To finish the look off, Dave installed a new door knob and a keyless "smart" lock and I found this durable metal wreath at Hobby Lobby.
This spring, we planned to get two new hives, to bring our total up to four. However, one of our hives didn't survive the winter so we now have three hives. Here's the queen bee, before she gets added to the hive.
The Kette Combs (Thanks for the punny name, Emily!)
We finally found recliners for the cabin! It took some time to find just the right ones, as the space is so small. The recliners maybe small, but they are comfy.
Blue pillow or yellow pillow? We couldn't decide so we ended up
layering the pillows, the yellow in the back, the blue up front (not pictured).
The ramps are just budding out
New rug from Costco. I don't love the way the pattern
looks in the cabin (I wish it was more natural looking) but
the rug is soooo soft and supple that we're keeping it!

Kiera's teachers are extra special this year...in addition to being amazing in the classroom, they scheduled a 5th Grade Girls Bowling outing to get the girls to bond and become closer friends and not succumb to the "mean girls" mentality.
