Cousin Luncheon

We were super excited to get to celebrate a belated Christmas with the Mormile Girls! We went out to lunch at Wild Mango, then came back to our house for dessert and Christmas gifts. Kiera was in seventh heaven with all the love and attention from the girls, not to mention gifts! The only sad part was, Emily was not home to make our get together complete.

Apparently, I didn't get the memo to bend down in this pic!
Still cute though...especially with Brooke in the shot!

Father Daughter Dance

The Girl Scout's had their annual Father Daughter Dance this weekend. The theme was "Under the Sea."  It was at the school on Friday evening and Kiera thought it was pretty cool to be at school at night. We were a little late getting to the dance because Kiera had volleyball, but that didn't stop her from "getting her groove on!" I went too, because I worked at the coat check. I got to peek in on the dance a few times and found most of the girls to be dancing and acting silly with their friends, while the dads stood around and chatted. There were a few times when the DJ got the dads and daughters out on the dance floor together. There was also a professional photographer there; can't wait to see Kiera and Dave's photo!

Winter at the Beach

The Polar Vortex had slightly lifted so we headed to the beach. Kiera was amazed that the water was frozen and dirty. She wanted to walk on the ice so badly, but had to settle for walking on the break walls instead. We kept Brooke on a leash just in case too. We didn't want any accidents!

Happy 2014!

Happy 2014! We rang in the new year with a quiet night at home. We decorated (see Kiera's bunting in the background?), enjoyed a lovely Sprite and rock candy cocktail, played games, ate Chinese food, made Borax crystal snowflakes,  and two of us were in bed at 9!

Chippy, Our Elf on the Shelf

Chippy, our Elf on the Shelf, returned this Christmas season. Kiera found him almost immediately each morning. Here are a few of the places Chippy hid.

Chippy left Kiera a note and three packs of gum balls to share
with her friends. He also told her to watch her whining!

Crocker Park Fun

We spent one last day with Auntie Em (Paul stayed home because he wasn't feeling well) at Crocker Park. We enjoyed lunch at the Cheesecake Factory and split a dulce de leche piece of cheesecake five ways. After lunch, we had a family photo shoot with the Christmas decorations at Crocker.
